I was really hoping that Taxol would be better than AC. I was wrong. This treatment is actually worse. The leg pain starts on Saturday after chemo. It is a combination of muscle and bone pain from my hips to my feet. This time I also had pain in my lower ribs. I have absolutely no energy and I don’t feel like doing anything. It doesn’t matter if I rest all day or try to be active, the pain is the same. It bothered me from Saturday the 21st until Thursday the 27th. We did close on our house on the 23rd. I was not feeling well and the lender didn’t fund the loan in time . We had to wait at the attorneys office for 2 and 1/2 hours. I was miserable! But we are homeowners again!
I actually felt good on Friday. I was able to shop for Mother of the Bride dresses with my sister and visited some friends. But Saturday woke up with a new pain in my abdomen. It hurt all weekend and still hurts today. I called the oncologist and they called in some medicine but if its not better in Thursday I will have to have an ultrasound. I am very tired of feeling bad but I only have 1 more chemo treatment to go! That is what is getting me through.
Even though I felt bad over the weekend we did spend time with the kids at the new house in the pool. We arenβt moving in for a couple of weeks but we had a really nice time. The weather was gorgeous! I floated a little and rested in the shade mostly. Grayson is turning into a great pool boy! He was excited to clean it every morning and get everything set up. I hope that excitement continues!
Something funny happened when I was grocery shopping over the weekend. I went in with a bandanna and ball cap. While I was checking out a lady who works there came over and said “Do you have breast Cancer?” I was completely caught off guard. No one had ever asked me that before but I guess she could tell based on the way I looked. But I told her “Yes” and she proceeded to tell me her breast cancer story. She gave me words of encouragement and showed me how much her hair had grown over the last years. She and her daughter had gotten matching tattoos after her treatment of a heart with the breast cancer ribbon. She was really sweet. I have met lots of wonderful ladies through this.
I met with the Radiology Oncologist a couple of weeks ago and she said I would have to do 20 rounds of radiation during the month of July. So 5 days a week for 4 weeks on my entire left breast. There will be side effects from that as well. I will know more when we meet again on June 23rd. She mentioned fatigue and skin damage so far. I will not be able to swim during the radiation so that is frustrating. I am sure there will be other things and I will update when I learn more!
I will update again after my last chemo. Thanks again for all of the love and prayers! 05/31/22
