Treatment #7 – Almost done!!

I completed treatment #7 of dose dense Taxol on May 19th. Grayson took me to treatment since he is home from college for the summer. So he got to see what I have been going through for the past 14 weeks. He wasn’t able to stay with me during the treatment but he watched them access my port and draw blood, met the dr. and carried my stuff for me to my chair. I think it was pretty eye opening for him. Almost every chair was full in the infusion room. The treatment itself went fine. It was another long day but I slept for most of it. I tried to respond to some work texts but realized I couldn’t communicate effectively while on Ativan and Benadryl! Basically I was drunk texting. I read what I wrote last night and had to apologize to a couple of people. I was so embarrassed.

The leg pain after the last treatment was worse than the first. It lasted about 10 days and was really frustrating. It affected my sleep. I had to take a pain pill just to sleep which I hate to do. It usually starts the Saturday after treatment so I am not looking forward to this weekend. It’s a combination of muscle and bone pain and is very uncomfortable. I am taking B6 vitamins, L-glutamine, and Allegra as instructed.

We are scheduled to close on our new house on Monday so the last week has been busy with dealing with last minute mortgage issues. It has been frustrating but fingers crossed it will go as scheduled. We don’t have to be out of our rental until June 30 so we are taking our time moving. But June will definitely be a busy month.
