Final Chemotherapy Treatment Complete in Pink!

Today, Thursday June 2, 2022, I completed my final round of chemo. Thank goodness all of my levels were good and I could get it done! The drugs were great and I got a really good nap.

I started the day receiving a video from my family and close friends. It was so sweet! I have attached it below. So the day started with lots of happy tears. The video was edited by my niece Taylor. This was such a sweet surprise.

I am still having some stomach issues. Bloated with sharp pain and muscle spasms. The Dr. gave me meds and wants to watch it for about a week and see if I need to have an ultrasound. She said its probably one of the “crazy chemo things”. So another “C” word – CRAZY!! The way your body reacts it seems like you are in a different body or feels like you are pregnant which I am definitely not!! Totally crazy.

This morning seemed very surreal. I have approached most of these treatments anxious and scared because each one is a little harder than the last. But I am so thankful this is the last!! I pray that I never have to do it again. But I also know that if I do it again, I now know I am strong enough to do it. The love and support I have received is overwhelming and definitely helped make me stronger. I received so many encouraging messages today too. Each day is still a roller coaster of emotions.

I was able to ring the bell after my treatment. Tim, Emily, Adam, Grayson and Brittney were there to witness it. I did it without crying but it was very emotional. When I got home my parents were there (wearing pink) and my family room at our rental had lots of pink! (Blush and Bashful – like in Steel Magnolias๐Ÿ˜Š). Emily made a ballon arch, and I had several bouquets of flowers. Mom brought pink roses, a pink Mandevilla, a pink and white bouquet and a white orchid); Ashlyn sent pink and purple flowers and Crumbl cookies; Mimi and her family sent a beautiful bouquet that included 8 roses – 1 for each treatment I have completed. I wore a T-shirt today that had the pink ribbon and words “fighter” that Emily had given me, my pink joggers, my pink nikes and my pink Atlanta Braves Hat. So there was definitely a pink theme.

I will post again next week and update on my side effects. As always – I so appreciate the love and prayers!๐Ÿ’•

Ringing the bell and all the flowers I received!
Me and my parents in pink!
My wonderful family!
My hype video as I prepared for my final treatment. Love these wonderful people!!
So the bell wasn’t easy to ring…๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.
