2 Years Since Treatment Ended!!

It’s hard to believe it has been 2 years! A lot has changed in that time.

The biggest change and the biggest blessing is I am now a grandmother! I did not know that I could love anyone as much as I love my children and then came Liam! It’s an indescribable feeling. He is 7 months old now and keeps us busy and smiling. I am so thankful for the time I get to spend with him. We have sleepovers often. There is nothing like those bedtime snuggles or first smiles in the morning. Watching my daughter Emily become a mom is also so wonderful! She and Adam are doing such a great job.

My follow up appointments have been good. I now have mammograms annually and an MRI annually. I do the MRI in the June and the mammogram in December. I see my oncologist every 6 months now. The only lingering effects are the peripheral neuropathy in my feet and legs and the lymphedema in my left arm which flared up in June. It was very painful but I have been going to therapy and it is much better. I have decided to grow my hair out so that is a frustrating process but thankfully I have very little gray. I am not sure if my low energy levels are from the treatments or because I am 54 years old! Probably the latter but I am working on that all the time.

Tim and I have a trip planned later this month to drive from San Francisco to San Diego on the Pacific Coast Highway (as much as we can with the current road closures). We are stopping in several places and are planning lots of activities including a balloon ride over Sonoma. This is one of the many trips we have on our bucket lists and we decided to start taking those trips now!

I appreciate everyone who has reached out over the last couple of years to check in and for all the prayers. I am happy to talk to anyone you know who is going through a similar experience. It’s a scary time and I hope to be a source of information and inspiration. I have included a couple of photos from the past year. Thanks for following along!
